The Science Behind LATISSE®
Bimatoprost (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) is the active ingredient in LATISSE® and what is responsible for lash growth possible. The exact cause of this growth is unknown, but LATISSE® is thought to affect the growth phase of eyelash hair in two distinct ways. First, LATISSE® prolongs the overall length of this growth phase, causing lashes to grow for a longer period of time. Second, Latisse® impacts the number of new eyelash hair created in this phase.
